The art program at Kaplan Career Academy continues the goal of assisting students to develop their appreciation for and understanding of the various art disciplines and the contributions of art in our society. The course offerings include a broad range of exciting full year and half year classes. The department is proud to offer courses that address: two-dimensional studies, three-dimensional studies, digital art studies and art history studies. There is also a strong emphasis on personal expression and communication in each of the art classes.

The foundation course is Studio Art, in which students develop their skills in a variety of media and hands-on applications, as well as learn art history, art criticism, and strategies for personal expression. Field trips to area museums are part of the art courses.

Art Curriculum

The Art Department hosted their Annual Trash Fashion Show and it was a huge success! Students created designs from all recycled products and displayed them on the runway for all to see! Congratulations to all our fashion designers, who spent MONTHS making their outfit designs!

Kaplan students participated in the School District's Art and Music Festival. The art work is a mixture of work from all 4 of the Greenburgh-North Castle Academies.
